I am currently Professor of Information and Associate Chair (Faculty) at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore (NTU).Ā
I am also the Chair of NTU Teaching Council and Fellow of the NTU Teaching Excellence Academy.
Ā At the Center for Information Integrity and the Internet (IN-cube), I spearhead the Laboratory for Online Information Research and Education (LORE). I received a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School. of Business. I also received an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer and Information Science from the National University of Singapore. I have corporate experience in systems analysis,Ā data management, statistical processing, and business operations in the financial sector.Ā
I am actively involved in research on everyday human-computer interaction and human-information interaction to build literacy and competencies to enable learning, collaboration, and social exchanges for school and work and in everyday life. In particular, my recent research investigates the potential of digital nudging as a plausible and impactful intervention for shaping user online behavior and developing digital and information literacy in the AI era.
