I am currently an Associate Professor and Associate Chair (Faculty) at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. I spearhead the Laboratory for Online Information Research and Education (LORE) at the Center for Information Integrity and the Internet (IN-cube). I received a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School. of Business. I also received an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer and Information Science from the National University of Singapore. I have corporate experience in systems analysis,  data management, statistical processing, and business operations in the financial sector.

My earlier research focused on investigating the affordances of information communication technologies in facilitating effective interactions among organizational members. Currently, I am actively involved in research on everyday human-computer interaction and human-information interaction to build literacy and competencies to enable learning, collaboration, and social exchanges for school and work and in everyday life. More specifically, my research focuses on how technological and information literacy with emerging technologies can change social and learning behaviours for the good of our society.
