Kailin Yuan is a Master’s (Research) student at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Media Studies and Art Management from the University of Toronto, Canada. She worked as a research assistant at the University of Toronto and Zhejiang University, contributing to projects on media technology, art, and policy.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of media, technology, and society, with a particular focus on how emerging technologies reshape communication processes, media production, and audience engagement in the digital era. Her current research focuses on the intersection of generative artificial intelligence and journalism. She is interested in how policy frameworks, algorithmic design, and audience perception collectively shape innovation and ethical practices in the era of generative media.
Lim Kok Khiang is a PhD candidate at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He holds a Master’s degree in Information Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
Lim’s research interests lie in the intersections between behavioural economics and informal online learning, and incorporating data analytics to uncover trends and derive insights. His current research focuses on understanding learners’ learning behaviour in informal online learning spaces by studying their online activities. The outcomes seek to develop a low-cost and sustainable behavioural intervention that could effectively guide learners towards learning success.
Shilan Huang is a Ph.D. student at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University. She holds a Research Master’s degree in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and a B.A. in Advertising from Zhejiang University, China.
In her research, she focuses on how deepfake and generative AI (GAI) technologies can be used for prosocial applications, and explores public appetite and acceptance toward these innovations. Shilan is also passionate about media psychology, public discourse, and utilizing computational methods to enhance social science research.
Ho Zhenghan is a Ph.D. student at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University..
